ITINERARY

Day 1: Departure
We meet to depart to Minneapolis for our flight to Honolulu, Hawaii.  After arriving to a ‘lei welcome’ off the airplane we will check into our lodging in Waikiki for the next 3 nights nestled right along the shores of the Pacific Ocean.  Welcome to paradise!

Day 2: Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona Memorial

Today we will head to historic Pearl Harbor to learn about the attack on the United States by Japan in World War II occurring December 7, 1941.  The morning continues with a tour of the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial.  We will enjoy an included lunch followed by a city tour by a local tour guide that brings us from the state Capitol to Chinatown.  Our evening will finish at our lodging by the shore where we will enjoy an amazing Hawaiian sunset.

Day 3: Polynesian Cultural Center
*Dinner Included
The morning will be yours to get to know the area by shopping at Kapi’olani Park, which is just a short walk away.  Or take this time to relax on the white sand beaches that our hotel occupies.  We will give you options for additional touring this morning if you are a go-getter, but time to relax is appreciated by most who vacation in Hawaii.  During the afternoon we will take off to the Polynesian Cultural Center where we will have time to explore, followed by an authentic Hawaiian Luau dinner and accompanied by a show of Polynesian songs and dances.

Day 4: Waimea Canyon in Kauai

Today we will board a plane to fly to Kauai, know as the garden island, where natural beauty is the main attraction.  We will stop at Kilohana Plantation and lunch, then take the remainder of the day to see the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” Waimea Canyon.  The day will finish at the scenic Kauai Beach Resort, located the shores of the Pacific where we will be residing the next 2 evenings.

Day 5: Incredible Kauai
As one of the world’s most stunning islands we will be finding sparkling waterfalls, jagged cliffs, emerald valleys and gorgeous vistas throughout the day.  Sights like Spouting Horn, Kauai’s North Coast and the town of Kilauea are on the itinerary, along with Koloa Town, an old Hawaiian town made up from the Hawaiian sugar industry.  Tonight take the opportunity for the chance to go flight-seeing by helicopter, one of the best ways to see one of the most spectacular landscapes imaginable.

Day 6: Maui Ocean Center

We wake up today to depart by plane from Kauai to Maui where we then stop by the Maui Ocean Center to take in the Pacific marine life and have an included lunch.  Stop by the Iao Valley as we drive to Lahaina Town for time to shop and check out some art galleries then arrive at our lodging by evening.  We will be staying at the luxurious Royal Lahaina Resort for the next 3 days and the remainder of the tour.

Day 7: Relax or Sightsee
*Breakfast Included
Enjoy a full breakfast buffet in the morning as you either take advantage of relaxation on the Ka’anapali Beach or choose to sightsee with the group.  We will depart in the later part of the morning to see some splendid sights today around Maui, but don’t feel obligated as the beach and ocean awaits you.

Day 8: Whale Watching
*Lunch Included
Today we will leave midmorning for the Whaler’s Village Museum to learn of the whaling history of Maui.  After lunch we will continue to the harbor for a whale-watching cruise around the island looking for different marine life, especially the gentle, giant Humpback Whale!  We will return to our lodging tonight with amazing photos and stories of seeing these beautiful mammals.

Day 9: Starting Home

You will have the morning to enjoy yourself and gather your things because today we depart the gorgeous state of Hawaii for home.  After checking out and having a farewell Hawaiian meal we will board a plane back to the mainland.

Day 10: Arriving Home
We return home a little jet-lagged and tired, but completely satisfied by the memories of Hawaii that are still fresh in our minds.  We thank you for traveling with Bluebird Guided Tours and look forward to traveling with you again in the future
