DAY 1: FLIGHT INTO ANCHORAGE, ALASKA

The Alaska Discovery Tour begins! Travel to Anchorage, Alaska by airplane and check into lodging. Enjoy an included dinner and have a relaxing night. Prepare to head north tomorrow to Denali National Park!

DAY 2: ANCHORAGE to DENALI NATIONAL PARK 
*Included Lunch and Dinner
Wake early and travel by motor coach from Anchorage to Denali National Park. Stop along the way to get a view of the majestic Denali Mountain, the tallest mountain in North America. Continue onto McKinley Park, Alaska, the gateway to Denali National Park. Finish the evening at the famous Cabin Nite Dinner Theater. Enjoy a delicious family style meal, fit for an Alaskan Sourdough, accompanied by a show. Check into lodging for the next two nights.

DAY 3: DENALI NATIONAL PARK

Today, wake early to discover Denali National Park via the Tundra Wilderness Tour. This tour provides the best chance of seeing wildlife while in Alaska. Tours are led by certified park guides who will point out animals like grizzly bears, Dall sheep, moose, caribou, wolves, lynx, and more! For the afternoon, enjoy an optional flight around Denali, go white water rafting (inquire for pricing), or just relax and enjoy free time in ‘Glitter Gulch.’

DAY 4: DENALI TO ANCHORAGE BY TRAIN

This morning, stop into Jeff King’s Husky Homestead to cuddle with a puppy and learn about the Iditarod and dog mushing, Alaska’s state sport. By noon catch the Alaska Railroad train to Talkeetna. Travel south by railroad adjacent to Denali and finish in Talkeetna, the ‘Climbing Town of Alaska.’ After dinner, finish the evening by driving into Anchorage.

DAY 5: SEWARD AND KENAI PENINSULA

Today, travel 2.5 hours through the Kenai Peninsula to Seward, AK. En route stop by a few different glaciers and many viewpoints, as this is one of the most beautiful parts of Alaska. After arriving into Seward, spend time in town and walk up to Exit Glacier, an awesome valley glacier.

DAY 6: SEWARD – CRUISE BEGINS
*Included Lunch and Dinner
This morning is a great opportunity to either fish for salmon or go on the Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise. Each traveler may choose one or the other, both are amazing! This afternoon, board Holland America’s Niewuw Amsterdam for a 7-day sailing through Alaska’s Inside Passage which ends in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. There will be included activities for travelers at each port except in Ketchican. Each traveler will receive a full itinerary of the included and additional excursions at the ports of call. During the cruise all meals are included, so eat until your heart is happy and belly full.

DAY 7: CRUISING AT SEA

It will be a good relaxing day after all the travel and miles put on over the last week of touring the interior. Explore the cruise ship for everything that it has to offer and rest up for glaciers tomorrow!

DAY 8: GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK (Port of Call: 10am-7pm)
*Included Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Wake up to one of the highlights of the trip, Glacier Bay National Park. Watch for massive pieces of ice, sometimes hundreds or thousands of pounds, falling into the ocean in a process called glacial calving. These tidewater glaciers or glaciers that touch the water, are some of the most amazing in the world. Keep camera in hand as this will be a day to remember!

DAY 9: HAINES - SKAGWAY (Port of Call: 6:30am-9pm) 
*Included Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Land into Haines, AK today, which is just a short ferry ride away from Skagway, AK. Arrive into the historic town of Skagway, AK and learn about its gold mining history. It was the gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush in 1898. For your main excursion today, travel by train on the White Pass Railroad, which showcases some beautiful Alaskan scenery.

DAYS 10: JUNEAU (Port of Call: 8am-6pm) – WHALE WATCHING
*Included Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Today, spend time in Juneau, Alaska – the state capital of Alaska. Get up close to see the Mendenhall Glacier just outside of town. Following lunch, take an included whale-watching cruise, searching for humpback and orca whales. Finish the day off with some shopping or a cold one at the Red Dog Saloon.

DAY 11: KETCHIKAN (Port of Call: 11am-7pm)

Enjoy the small, Southeast Alaska, fishing town of Ketchikan, AK, known as the Salmon Capital of the world! Get to know the town and the culture of the native Tlingit people who are known for the construction of totem poles. Tour through Totem Bight State Park, which is one of the many locations these poles are on display.

DAY 12: SCENIC CRUISING THE INSIDE PASSAGE

Today it’s a day at sea! Travel towards Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and enjoy the relaxation of the last days at sea. The gorgeous journey through Alaska’s Inside Passage will soon be coming to an end.

DAY 13: VANCOUVER, CANADA – SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
Arrive into the final cruise destination and port of disembarkation in the morning. After spending some time in Vancouver, BC, travel by motor coach to Seattle, WA and stop at Pike Place Market, the city’s largest open air market. For the night, check out the space needle or choose to relax by heading back to the hotel to prepare for the return trip home tomorrow.

DAY 14: TRAVELING HOME
Say farewell to new traveling friends and the most scenic parts of the world. What a fantastic trip through Alaska, the Inside Passage, and the Pacific Northwest. Travel through the day to get home to your respective departure locations. Alaska was incredible and we hope to see you again on the next journey you take!
